Counting down: 5 more weeks ...

Only 5 more weeks till I can see and hold my new baby!
What I am thinking now is how to cope with the things to do before the baby is here .
First I have to "retire" from my job which I still do intensively for 3 more weeks, but still need to figure out how and when I will come back behind the desk again.
Then the plan on changing the carpeting in the bedroom and living room before the baby is due, which I hope will be done soon.
And with the holiday coming, I don't know if I have the energy to decorate the house in time for the season.
Last but not least, I want to clean up the house (of course after all that new carpeting is done) entirely before the due date, and still have few days off to relax and maybe shop little bit more for my new bundle of joy.

As they always say, so little time so much to do...
I don't want to fret about it, I've been trying to take it easy and focus on my job mostly during this pregnancy. With the help of my lovely husband, I've been able to keep things fine the way it is, the house is a bit of a mess but it's perfectly normal with little Michael around (he's a busy bee!). So... it's all nice and peachy for me .. EXCEPT for being uncomfortably big of course...

Well, to say the least, I am feeling good right now. And happy to share this experience with some of my long distance friends who are also expecting their bundle of joy: Mey Ling, Wenny and Nancy (I miss you guys, and wish you all the best!).

Seven more weeks...

The last time you saw the inside of my tummy, the baby was just the size of a pea.
Wait till you see how I looked like now. How time flies..

And in case you're still wondering, it's a B O Y.

My wonderful lovely husband sneaked behind my back and planned a baby shower for me. (Isn't he the sweettest?) He invited our close friends to surprise me one Saturday morning.
It really made my day... and made this whole pregnancy thing "again" feels special.

Now, we await ...

This little "baby brother" (as Michael calls him) will due on Christmas. I don't mind a Christmas baby, but anyday before that will be as perfect... cause I can't wait to hold him on my hand.
He's been rolling around my tummy for a while, he's been keeping me awake most of the nights, I really can't wait to see him in action!

Coming back and more ...

I am pretty sure you all got tired of the "black out" story up front of my blog for almost 2 months.

Well, I apologize for the lacking.. again..

It's been a bit hectic around the house and I have been so lazy to keep up with the works.

So far ahead, first - the tax season was done quite well.. I am happy about it and now I can work on the rest of extended stuffs more slowly and more peacefully - no more rush hours.

Secondly, our kitchen is done and refurnished, it took us a few weeks to finally got the dining table we wanted and the windows covered nicely.

Hmm, I owe you some pictures then... I know!

Last but not least.. we got a little present waiting to come out.. well, in about 6 and a half months to be more precise.

JOY o JOY!

There's a baby in my tummy!! :)

I hope I can keep my promise this year to blog, since I can see that I would rather spend the day laying down on the sofa than in front of computer. But I will try!
At least a bit of update now and then, especially now that I have something to rave about.. heh heh. The new coming baby of course, and Michael is still be the top hit around the house. He's been very vocal lately.... By vocal I mean he really vocalizes in tune... he loves to sing.
I will try to take video of him singing and post it. If I can really do that - the idea of oodling with camera and convert it into watchable video in internet is just out of my mind. I hope my husband will do that for me... (of course he will).

And to feast your eyes:

Black Out

It's the first week of April - should be the second busiest week of the year in my office (the busiest week is next week). Well, what do you know - we had a power outage. Starting 10:20 this morning the power went off and didn't come back until about 4-ish in the afternoon, but we all already left.

The whole hill was in black out and the traffic light at big intersection down the hill which leads to main highways to/from downtown, next town and freeway ramps was out. Some minor accidents and of course the traffic was backed out really badly for almost the whole day. According to the news there was a faulty switch that they (PG&E) couldn't find the source until about 2:45pm and another couple hours to fix it. It affects about 2400 customers mostly office buildings, 3 big hotels, a couple of big shopping centers and many more residentials.

Of course my boss wasn't happy at all and we had to reschedule 5 meetings that supposed to be done that day. Unfortunately all of our client's contacts information is in MsOutlook with no way to access at the moment; so some of the clients end up coming into our slightly darken office (good thing we had giant windows all around) and have a chat with the boss - but went home unclear about their tax status though - poor people.

A couple of them we found the phone numbers through yellow pages. So, good for them.. otherwise they would've stucked in the traffic on the way to/from our place.

Most of the employees from our office buildings left the work around noon. They couldn't work and the place was getting hotter without A/C. Mine on the other hand is pretty cool... not as hot as the other rooms in our office. So I stayed... instead of doing the tax on computer, I organized and indexed the workpapers, making sure we got all stuffs we need, making notes on my findings.. and I made a huge stack of tax files on my desk - all organized nicely for me to finish for the next few days. It's actually not bad to be able to continue being productive without depending on electricity. And I have my nano-zen to keep me entertained during that quiet day (no ringing phone!).

What's on my mp3 player? Of course - Chrisye!

A Tribute for A Legend (2)

For a true Legend like Chrisye - saying goodbye is the hardest yet most touching thing ever in the world of Indonesian music. Many websites posted this sad news and many more pay tribute to him through blogs and comments. His clips on YouTube have been flooded with comments .. all saying goodbyes and mourning over him.

I wish I were there in Indonesia to be able to share more of this feelings with many people, as I believe (and it's true) that during these days his songs will be heard all over media, radio, tv, internet, cellphone, and in the hearts of his fans. But I am thankful that with today's technology I can share it with those who are afar from our beautiful country. Just like this community comments on kompas, it has so many beautiful stories and comments about Chrisye from Indonesian people in other countries, and I heart the post.

In this video clip (one of his latest colaboration with Ungu from album Senyawa), Chrisye was shown near the end of the clip. The video was made during his sickness and we can totally see that he was not well, he had lost his beautiful locks, and the video was shot with him on wheelchair (but not shown). Still his voice sounded as great as ever... the same way we remember him in his earlier songs back in the 70's. Amazing...

All I can say is that Chrisye songs are not like any other songs. His songs are forever, his songs are evergreen. For they are as true as our hearts with every bit of happiness and sadness, ups and dows that we can relate too. Many of them often remind us about the greatness of God such as songs: Sabda Alam, Hening, Kidung and Damai Bersamamu.

One of these days I will compile all of Chrisye's songs and post it on a side blog. It takes more than words to speak of him and his songs will say it all.

So once again, another tear sheds for him, another song to sing farewell..
