A Tribute for A Legend

We just read the news from Indonesia that singer Chrisye (Chrismansyah Rahadi) passed away March 30, 2007 at 4.08 WIB (that's 3/29/07 at 13.08 PST) due to lung cancer.
Our hearts have sadden deeply that our country just lost the greatest music legend there is.

Chrisye was a great singer and songwriter which had produced many Indonesian greatest hits throughout our lifetime. He created the most beautiful songs with great lyrics, and he has the warmest, sweetest voice that hadn't changed over the years of his career (more than 30 years). We literally grew up listening to his songs, more new ones each year. His first great hit "Lilin Lilin Kecil" (Little Candles) from 1976 is one of our favorite song of a lifetime.

Our prayer goes to his family and friends who loved him so dearly as well as to the hearts of Indonesian and Asian people who have been touched by his songs. We are forever greatful to have known him as he shared his talents through music.
I am personally thankful that I bought his album Senyawa (2004) on our last visit to our home country. I am tearing up as I listened to his songs.. knowing that I will never hear new songs by him and how much I am gonna miss a talent such his. He is truly a Legend.
In my heart I know that now he is one of the angels singing in Nirvana.
...Heaven is so lucky to have him...
