That static thing!
I have been getting a lot static shocks.. I mean A LOT... the kind that you get from touching some metal surfaces or even other people since it is oohh soo dry....
For the past weeks it's been freezing and dry around here. The result is I'm a lot jumpier than ever. My little boy gets that static shock everytime he comes to me or vice versa. Poor little thing... he just sigh "ouch" quietly when it happens. I am so sorry my dear boy.. but I can't help it! I put on lotion often, but it doesn't last too long. Now I run the humidifier in our bedroom because it has carpeting - which is the ingredient to make static. It helps to have a bit of moisture in the air. Good thing most of our rooms have wood flooring.
At the office, on the other hand, all carpety and more .. I have to flick each surface before I touch it: door handles, file cabinets, copy machine, etc. I find it easier to handle the shock by flicking because I kinda suspect to get hurt a bit. But what about the people??? Do I have to flick them first before I touch them?... My boss' wife which is the office manager often says to me "you're electric today" (which is happen almost everyday) because I always give her static shock when we discuss something, exchange files, etc. Our recepsionist always giggles everytime she sees me flicking stuffs at the office. Might as well call me "electric girl" or "the girl who gets static shock all the time".
Wonder if I can harness the power...
Dear rain, how I miss you in this dry winter.
